Venue & Events Manager 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic and self-motivated person for the position of Freebairn Recreation Centre Manager at the Shire of Kulin. The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily operations of the Freebairn Recreation Centre including bar, staff, stock control and reconciliation of bar products as well as the bookings, scheduling and promotion of sporting fixtures and other functions.

Our recreation centre is the home to all local sporting clubs and is busy in both winter and summer sports seasons. Facilities within the complex include 2 large function rooms with commercial bar and kitchen facilities, two indoor netball/basketball courts, a hockey field, football/cricket oval, 12 rink bowling green, 8 tennis courts, an 18 hole golf course and a small gymnasium/fitness centre.

The position will be offered a fixed term contract (initially four years) with a cash remuneration of $60,000 to $70,000 per annum. The package includes superannuation, subsidised Council housing and other benefits.

Bar Manager

The Shire of Kulin will also consider applications for the role of a Bar Manager, in either a Full Time or Part Time capacity.

Local applicants are encouraged to apply if you believe that you have what it takes to undertake any aspect of the Bar Managers role. The applicant would be an enthusiastic and organised individual who would be available to work a mixture of office hours, after hours and weekend hours.

The role would include management of facility bar, cleaning and maintenance as well as some scheduling of sports fixtures and event management.

Kulin Child Care Centre Coordinator

The Shire of Kulin is seeking a dynamic and passionate Centre Coordinator to join our team at Kulin Child Care Centre. This is a full-time position (38-hour week), responsible for the management of the day-to-day operation of the 19-place community-based Centre.  The position will undertake administration (19 hours per week) and on-the floor contact (19 hours).

Kulin Child Care Centre provides a strong play-based learning curriculum. Children enjoy wonderful indoor and outdoor play areas, well equipped learning resources, and a range of additional activities.

 Qualifications in Early Years Education

  • Working with Children Check
  • Experience in administration
  • A strong commitment to quality education and care for the children, families and the team.

An attractive salary will be negotiated in accordance with the Children’s Services Award 2010 dependent on experience and qualifications.  Subsidised housing is provided.

Works Supervisor

Applications are invited for the position of Works Supervisor with the Shire of Kulin.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the Manager of Works and will carry out day to day duties to ensure that councils works are completed in a safe and timely manner and will be required to operate plant and machinery to complete tasks. Applicants will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of road construction, civil works as well as a knowledge in the Local Government Industry.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Govt. Industry Award 2020.

The successful applicant will be offered a total cash remuneration package of between $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience for a 76-hour fortnight spread across nine days and includes an RDO, 4x2 residence if required, limited private use of a council vehicle and phone allowance.

Relief Educators (Casual) - Kulin Child Care Centre

The Kulin Child Care Centre requires relief educators (casual position).  Relief educators may be called on at short notice and be required to work varying hours (ie. lunchtime relief, full days or half days).
